Changing lives, having fun in a way the world has never seen before. Taking Scending it with Scendent to combat the failing MH system.
Young Kiwis are struggling... and we’re taking the LEAP to do something about it.
Our next mission is the Death Diving: Unplugged tour, a 10-day, 10-location film that dives into the lives of extreme athletes who use adrenaline not for recklessness, but as a lifeline. By telling their stories, we’ll connect with young people in a raw, real way that traditional mental health campaigns can’t reach.
What we need:
We’ve pulled in favours, donated hours, and stripped costs to the bone. But to make this film happen, we need to cover the essentials:
Pre-production (planning and prep)
Production (10 days of filming, crew, and gear)
Post-production (editing, music, and final cut)
Specialist equipment hire (like underwater housings and lights)
Contingency buffer (because things break, and filming isn’t cheap)
All up, the full production budget is $27,951 NZD.
The promise:
Every cent raised goes directly into finishing this project. And if we raise more than our production budget, the extra will go straight to Gumboot Friday - helping fund free counselling for young people across New Zealand.
Why it matters:
This isn’t just a film about diving - it’s about survival, resilience, and showing young Kiwis that they’re not alone. It’s about meeting them where they are, not where we wish they’d be.
We start filming 1 September 2025, so the clock is ticking.
Help us finish this tour, get these stories told, and make a real impact for youth mental health in Aotearoa.
As always...

Funding completes Death Diving: Unplugged, powers the Mental Health Unmasked event, and covers urgent private therapy for young adults. Every $200 funds a counselling session; all extra donations fuel life-saving mental health scholarships nationwide.
