We're trying to get Kyran to the Junior World Disc Golf Champs in the USA so he can learn from the best and help grow the sport in NZ.
Upper Hutt, Wellington
"Hello, my name is Kyran and I’m 11 years old. I’ve been playing disc golf since I was 7, and this year I’m hoping to represent New Zealand at the Junior World Disc Golf Championship in Pittsburgh, USA.
Disc golf isn’t just a hobby for me – it’s what I love most. I train hard, compete regularly, and I’m currently ranked the number one 11-year-old boy in New Zealand.
The trip isn’t just about competing. I want to grow the sport and encourage more kids to play. Every Sunday, my family and I help run free disc golf sessions where kids and their parents can come and give it a go, I’ve demonstrated it at school, and I’ve helped my dad run community holiday programmes to introduce kids to the sport. My dad is even in the process of getting a new course installed along the riverbank so everyone in the community can have the opportunity to play. And best of all, it’s free!
Competing at Junior Worlds would be a dream come true. It would give me the chance to:
• Represent New Zealand on the world stage
• Learn from and compete against the best players
• Bring that experience back home to help grow disc golf in our region
The only problem is travelling to the United States is expensive. Plus, I’m only 11, so I can’t go alone.
Any contribution, big or small, would mean the world to me. Thank you for backing me, supporting junior sport, and being part of this journey.
Ngā mihi"

I'm Kyran's mum, so I know first hand how hard he's working towards this goal.
The money will be spent on flights, accommodation and any other costs associated with the tournament. If our goal is not met, funds will go towards a future disc golf tournament.
