Help with Kyran's coaching and travel expenses in his push to represent New Zealand at the Youth Winter Olympic Games, Lausanne 2020.
International
Greetings family and friends, you've been asking us so here it is – a simple fundraising effort for Kyran.
After years of snowboarding competitively, Kyran now has the opportunity of a lifetime—he is now registered and is eligible to be selected to represent New Zealand at the 2020 Youth Winter Olympic Games.
His selection will be based on his potential, his competitive results up to this point and for the remainder of this season. Other aspects are also considered – his character and suitability, several other factors.
But most importantly, to give him the best shot at selection, we're asking for financial help to contribute to his training and competing expenses through the upcoming New Zealand winter.
Kyran spent a month training in Colorado in February, entering 2 slopestyle events and qualifying for the USASA National Champs. He's unable to go and compete because in April we're spending 2 weeks in Banff training with his Ruapehu coach Andy.
This New Zealand winter he will be spending term 3 training full time with Andy at Mt Ruapehu. This will involve gym work, trampoline training, and lots of time on the mountain (while keeping up with his school work of course). They will make several trips to competitions where he will be able to accumulate FIS points which are an important constituent of his selection criteria.
We can't thank you enough for all of your support and encouragement for Kyran so far <3
Kyran is my son. We're raising money to help cover his training expenses in his push to represent New Zealand at the Youth Winter Olympics.
All funds raised will go solely towards coaching fees, and travel expenses – flights, accommodation, logistics.
