Help Shaun and his family create lasting memories and ease financial stress during the terminal stages of his cancer journey.
Tauranga, Bay Of Plenty
Shaun and Isla have been married for almost 5 years, they have two beautiful boys, Ezra (almost 4) and Archie (almost 2). In 2024 life changed forever when Shaun, then only 32, was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer (follicular dendritic cell sarcoma)
It began with a small lump on his chest and swelling under his arm. After months of tests Shaun began 6 cycles of chemotherapy, followed by 5 weeks of daily radiation. In January 2025 he faced a life altering forequarter amputation (the only way to remove all known cancer).
For a short time they celebrated Shaun being cancer free, but in August 2025 a scan revealed 5 nodules in Shaun’s lungs. Shaun is now terminal and treatment options are limited. Doctors estimate just 1–2 years. Shaun’s strength, positivity and unwavering love for his family continues to inspire many.

Shaun’s Health Update 2 April 2026
Last weekend Shaun caught a tummy bug, he stopped vomiting but he started to have very high fevers that didn't go away.
On Wednesday he went to the doctors, who then sent him to hospital in an ambulance.
They did many different tests to figure out what was going on and found he has a staph infection in his blood.
However, while doing these tests they also found that the cancer has now spread to his heart.
There are many different factors that link these two things together that also make for a worse outcome than usual. The biggest being he cannot have any form of chemo/cancer treatment while fighting the infection because it is too dangerous, and they're not sure they'll ever get rid of it for good because of the way it likes to hide in the heart and the way that the cancer is allowing it to do so.
Unfortunately there's nothing they can do other than try and make him as comfortable as possible as he could only have weeks left.
Shaun, Isla, Ezra and Archie need support more than ever as they navigate this next stage of Shauns cancer journey.
