Helping Sophie and her family through this difficult time.
Canterbury
On the 9th of June, Sophie was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer known as Triple Negative. With no family history of breast cancer, this came as quite a shock.
With a cancer diagnosis comes a lot of appointments, meaning Sophie had to stop work effective immediately. On top of that, Carl also had to remain home in NZ to support Sophie and their two young boys, meaning he could no longer continue FIFO in WA.
Sophie is tackling this diagnosis from a holistic and wellness approach as well as conventional, this incurring its own cost.
Sophie has a long road ahead with a further 16 rounds of chemo scheduled, a follow-up double mastectomy, and radiation.
Donating can relieve some pressure for Sophie and her family at this difficult time, big or little everything helps and if you are not in the position to donate please share so this gets around! Thanks so much for being apart of Sophie’s tribe. Love from her support crew ❤️

*Update* 9 September 2025
I’m pleased to share as of yesterday ultrasound I have no evidence of disease.
The proposed plan going forward is to continue with the first part of my chemo regimen ( I have completed 8/12) until this can be double confirmed via MRI.
I have decided to opt out of the second half of chemo, as it’s an amazing result so soon and the risk out-way’s the benefits of long term health implications it can/will induce.
Once I have finished this round of chemo I will then be booked in for surgery for a double mastectomy. This is required for Triple Negative breast cancer as there is no way to determine the cancer isn’t still active of a cellular level until pathology is taken from all the breast tissue removed. This in itself will be the biggest hurdle in my journey.
I would like to thankyou again for your donations and support messages. It has been a huge relief for our family as we navigate our way through this!
