Help our Hamilton based Special Kids Therapy Gym fund children to give them life changing play based therapy. Become a Special Kid sponsor!

Waikato

Do you want to make a difference in your community?? Become a Special Kid sponsor!

Through our Give a Little page, you have the opportunity to help a child attend a life changing service, that provides a specialised play based therapy. As there are many different diagnoses, I provide play therapy for those with learning disabilities, ADHD, sensory processing disorders, autism, Down's syndrome and cerebral palsy.

By donating anything you can, even $1, you help a child that would otherwise struggle to attend our Special Kids Therapy Gym. This includes families that do not receive government funding, are under financial hardship, or have to travel from out of town and find accommodation and cover many costs on their own.

Our goal is based on how much 10 visits would cost ten children ($60 per session) or ten weeks of intensive therapy for ten children, which is $600. If we can help fund sponsorship for at least ten children, we will be able to help those who need it most! We do not want to turn anybody away if they are in need of a service like ours. If we do not reach our goal, then we will use the money raised to subsidise our service to as many families as possible.

After that brief explanation of why we're on Give a Little, let me introduce myself, my name is Livia and I founded the Special Kids Therapy Gym with my wonderful family in August 2018.

For over 21 years in New Zealand, I have been working with children of all ages to help improve fine and gross motor skills, sensory integration (sensory processing), motor coordination and planning, learning issues and visual perception.

After providing children with my expertise within a NZ primary school setting for 21 years, I am now offering my knowledge to the entire community and to provide a service recognised on an international scale, and deliver it locally.

My special gym for special kids incorporates the use of suspended equipment (where appropriate) into treatment (according to the child’s needs), to help improve a child’s muscle strength, balance, coordination, attention, and other sensory-related behavioural issues. Check out our photos and see what we're all about!

Thank you so much for reading our story and we really appreciate any donation you can give. Take care and get in touch with us if you know anybody that would benefit from a special service like ours :)

Special Kids Therapy Gym Limited's involvement (page creator)

I'm the provider of a specialised service, and many of the families who would like to use my therapy gym cannot afford the on-going costs to regularly attend. Through your help page they will receive the money raised here as a sponsorship!

Use of funds

Every dollar will be used for families that can truly benefit from our service, and who could not otherwise afford it. The sponsorships will be given to those after they apply to our gym service, and their financial position is established.
