Help Stella travel for treatment
Please help Stella raise the funds she needs to attend treatment.
Invercargill, Southland
Our beautiful Stella has recently been diagnosed with Lung Cancer. She has been told the cancer is inoperable due to risk, however, radiation and chemotherapy is her best option. Treatment is provided in Dunedin, a 3 hour drive from Invercargill where she lives. At this stage we have no idea what the duration of treatment is and due to the reduced capacity of rooms at the Daffodil house she will have increased costs associated with travel, accommodation and meals for her an her support person. Both Stella and her support person are pensioners and therefore do not have the additional expendable income to cover these costs.
We are asking for your generosity to help Stella and her support person to travel to Dunedin for her treatment to give her the best chance of beating this.

My name is Kirsty and I am a close friend of Stella's as well as her Support persons Daughter.
Use of funds
The funds will be used for accommodation, fuel costs and meals for Stella and her Support person while traveling to Dunedin for her treatment. These are costs outside of anything recoverable from Health New Zealand/Te Whatu Ora.

Hi all
Thank you all so much for the support you have given Stella so far. Stella is incredibly overwhelmed and humbled by your generosity, she has tried to message you all individually however in some cases she does not have your contact information. Please know she is deeply grateful for your support.
Stella traveled to Dunedin on Tuesday 11 October to see the oncologist and 5 days radiation therapy will start on Monday. This is sudden but a huge relief that things are now moving quickly. From here, the doctors will meet again to discuss the chemotherapy and a plan will be put in place. Further radiation may be required however this will not be known until the initial 5 days are complete.
This journey may be a long one therefore the end cost is unknown, we would love it if you can share Stella's page to your friends as everything counts.
