Raising funds to support Kahu’s whānau with search efforts, immediate needs, and possible funeral costs.
Whanganui, Manawatu-Wanganui
Our beloved Kahu has been reported missing. He was last seen on Friday, June 27, and the search continues as his whānau do everything they can to bring him home.
His vehicle has been located along the side of the Whanganui River, but his body has not yet been found. Police had advised immediate family that a crane would be taken to the crash site on Thursday, July 4 to retrieve the car, but for reasons still unknown, the crane never made it to the scene.
Police have also advised that diving operations will not resume until Tuesday, July 8. As you can imagine, these delays have been incredibly hard on the whānau — but we continue to hold onto hope, trusting that answers will come and that Kahu will be brought home.
This page has been set up to help ease the financial burden on Kahu’s immediate family — covering costs such as food for the search crews, petrol, supplies, and ongoing support while they focus entirely on bringing him home. Funds may also go toward funeral or memorial expenses if needed.

Our Precious Boy Now Rests
Kia ora koutou
With the heaviest of hearts, we want to let you all know that our beautiful Kahu has been found. He has now been laid to rest in Matahiwi, alongside his loving grandmother.
This isn’t the outcome we prayed for, but we are grateful to have him home and surrounded by the love of his whānau and tūpuna. We take comfort knowing he is no longer alone.
To everyone who has stood beside us during the search, thank you. Your aroha, donations, time, and prayers have meant everything. You helped us keep going when it was hardest. You helped bring him home.
We will never forget the kindness and strength you’ve given us. Kahu touched so many hearts, and his light will always live on.
