48-year-old Kevin Williamson had his first kidney transplant in 2012 after being on dialysis since 2009, unfortunately the transplant didn’t work. In 2016 Kevin was lucky enough to have a second successful transplant. As time went on and Kevin became stronger, he returned to work part time and eventually full time. While Kevin was on dialysis he met Natalia, who was also on dialysis waiting for a transplant. Their friendship later developed into a relationship and they have now been together 4 ½ years. In October 2017 Natalia was able to have a successful transplant. Earlier this year she returned to casual work and things were going well for them both. However, in March/April Kevin started to suffer from back pain that gradually became worse and on Easter weekend he was rushed to hospital where he was diagnosed with cancer in his spine, abdomen and lungs. Unfortunately, doctors have given him only weeks maybe months and can only treat the pain with radiotherapy and make him as comfortable as they can. Due to the circumstances Natalia has had to put her job on hold indefinitely while she cares for Kevin and tries to spend as much quality time with him. Not only is this putting her under a lot of stress physically and emotionally, with little or no income they are financially strained and having to worry about mortgage payments.
