Liberty has undergone three major surgeries in the past three days. She is extremely exhausted and remains in shock from the accident. The road ahead will be long, with an expected recovery time of 12–18 months.
Her pelvis reconstruction surgery was successful. However, surgeons are still unable to graft skin onto her arm, as the surrounding tissue continues to deteriorate. She is receiving blood transfusions around the clock due to extensive internal and external injuries.
She currently has surgical drains in her head, leg, and arm. Further imaging is scheduled to assess additional potential injuries. Surgery on her feet and collarbone has been delayed, as more critical procedures have taken priority.
Liberty is being closely monitored in hospital, and her condition is considered serious. The medical team is taking things day by day as they address each injury and stabilize her for further treatment.
We are incredibly grateful to the doctors, nurses, and hospital staff for their ongoing care and expertise.
We are so grateful that your such a positive, tough young lady, we are keeping you and your whānau in our prayers.
