Help Macy Cook become a Professional Ballerina.

Hi I am Macy, a 15 year old aspiring ballet dancer.

I have been lucky enough to have gained a full tuition scholarship (worth $10,640 NZD) to attend the year round Professional Training Programme at Houston Ballet Academy (HBA), Texas. The other costs for the the year are approximately $30,000 NZD. I would welcome any financial support to help make this opportunity possible. I am currently studying for my Cambridge International Education university entrance examinations at Chilton Saint James School (in which I am on scholarship) and completing my dance training at Chilton Ballet Academy (CBA).

I began ballet when I was 7 years old and by 10 years old I was selected to be part of the New Zealand School of Dance (NZSD) Scholar Programme and at 13 years old age as an NZSD Junior Associate. I competed in the prestigious Alana Haines Awards (AHA) in 2017 and won the Supreme A divisional at 13 years old. This title gave me direct entry to the New York Finals of the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) and a scholarship to San Francisco Ballet (SFB) School Summer Intensive. I was offered a place at SFB at the age of 14 but decided to complete my schooling and dance scholarship at CBA. At AHA 2019 I was honoured to be invited to perform as a guest dancer at the finals. I was also selected to be part of the Royal New Zealand Ballet (RNZB) Mentor Programme but due to my successful video audition and scholarship to HBA I have been withdrawn. Instead, I have kindly been offered an individual programme by Artistic Staff at RNZB to join company class with the guidance from a RNZB company member before my departure to Houston in August, 2019.

My dream is to complete my professional training to gain a contract with a ballet company. This opportunity to train at HBA is one step closer towards reaching my goal and I would appreciate any financial support that could help with the cost of this opportunity. Ballet training is a very expensive activity for families of dancers. My family has and still does support me as best they can but for me to continue I have set up this givealittle page.
