Help support Oakley and Zane and break the chain of mental illness being passed down through generations.

Auckland

These boys have lost their father suddenly at the beginning of February 2020 due to suicide. Oakley and Zane are 4 times more likely to battle mental illness after this traumatic event.

They couldn't attend their father's funeral so their closure and understandings are unsure to where their dad has gone.

Suicide from a parent can cause problems such as obesity, mental health problems, drug and alcohol abuse, and even suicide.

I want to prevent these things by seeing a private counseling and seeing a psychiatrist by giving them the best chance in life and I cannot do this by myself.

Through my study I get to research more into when a parent commits suicide and how it affects their children they leave behind.

I have been struggling to cope financially with very little support around me for just over 14 months since his passing.

As a lone parent, I will struggle to give these boys the basics in life from the traumatic experience I had been faced with I have been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder- PTSD. You can ask questions to understand more and I will be open and truthful because the truth is key to understanding.

They will need counseling later down the track as they are a bit young to understand death. Zane was only 18 months old and Oakley was 4 years old. Oakley found it hard to comprehend his fathers death and had no help from the family to process this. This prevents me from getting a job as mentally I shut down walking into the public areas.

Oakley and Zane are great kids that deserve to have a good life filled with action and adventure, also gain coping mechanisms through counseling via the private sector for the rest of their life dealing with this traumatic experience and loss.

With school camps, excursions and winter clothing every year it is hard to keep up with it all and I certainly do not want them to miss out of life experiences.

I have been there 100% for my children and out them first every single day because I can only take life one day at a time at this moment.

Use of funds

To support Oakley and Zane, to give them life experiences and cloth them during the winter months as the grow rapidly.
