Please help support Shilo & family after a road accident involving her partner and children

Queenstown, Otago

My dear friend Shilo and her family have been in Brazil for some time spending time with her partner's family. Her partner Junior has been truck driving to support the family and often they have gone with him on trips to travel the country.

Junior, Keisha and Jay Jay were on a trip a few weeks ago when they were sadly in a horrific accident.

Junior had a coughing fit and as he reached for his inhaler he passed out for a few seconds. As a result of the accident Jay Jay (age 4) has broken right femur bone and Junior's leg got cut through the tendon and lost a lot of blood to the point of him being resuscitated. Keisha (age 18) was just bruised and little cuts on her legs and feet from the glass.

All the family's personal documents were in the truck in a suitcase. When they got out from the hospital suitcase was still there but personal documents had been stolen along with other things.

Junior, Keisha and Jay Jay are still a 29-hour drive away from Shilo and Tyrek while they recover. The family currently has no income due to the accident as the truck is written off and Junior is injured.

Junior and Keisha are out of hospital and could use some help with accommodation, food, etc while supporting Jay Jay until they can go home.

If you can spare anything to donate it would be greatly appreciated.

Shilo and I met at work 14 years ago and have been extremely close friends ever since. Her children are my God children and very dear to me.

Use of funds

Accommodation & food until Junior, Keisha and Jay Jay can return home and to support the family while Junior can't work.

As the accident happened overseas, we are unsure if ACC will contribute to any of these costs.
