Taimahi Trust enables meaningful work for young people with disabilities. Please help us get our site looking beautiful from the outside.

Whangarei, Northland

At Taimahi Trust we enable meaningful work for young people with disabilities. Our Bank

Street, Whangārei site is where our team put in the mahi and learn new skills. It is a special

place where we meet and connect.

We have already established a new commercial kitchen and recently set up a retail store

where we sell responsibly sourced or locally made products such as Taimahi’s Earth & Honey range, indoor and outdoor plants, and fresh food and produce.

The Bank Street location is the heart of Taimahi. This is where we employ 18 people with

disabilities who are learning new skills for living a meaningful life.

There is so much pride and passion for what happens inside the building. We want to extend

that joy by giving our site a fresh, professional look. This includes a beautifully painted

exterior with our new branded signage.

Can you help us raise the funds we need to make this happen?

Your support will enable Taimahi to grow. Whether that is by giving us more visibility in the

community, or by encouraging customers to come into our shop. By helping us grow you are

also helping Taimahi to employ more people and make an even bigger difference in lives of

many more.

About us

Taimahi Trust is the brainchild of two mothers of sons with intellectual disabilities – our co-founders Rachel Hill and Alison Faithfull. Frustrated at the lack of training and employment opportunities for their highly capable children, these women embarked on a hugely rewarding but challenging path to do better for young people with intellectual and learning disabilities in Whangarei.

From the coffee cart beginnings, we now have a range of employment training programs for our trainees, including our retail shop, commercial kitchen, herbarium, barista and own brand coffee, and operations administration.

Use of funds

Money raised will be spent on giving our site on the corner of Bank and Water Streets a fresh, professional look, including a beautiful new paint job and signage with our new brand.
