Job training for young adults with learning and intellectual disabilities – building confidence and transforming lives.

Taimahi Trust is changing lives by walking alongside people with learning and intellectual disabilities, growing their self-determination, teaching them how to work and changing mindsets about disability.

We envision a future where there are diverse and genuine job opportunities for individuals with learning and intellectual disabilities. Donate today to help realise this vision.
Taimahi Trust is the brainchild of two mothers of sons with intellectual disabilities – our co-founders Rachel Hill and Alison Faithfull. Frustrated at the lack of training and employment opportunities for their highly capable children, these women embarked on a hugely rewarding but challenging path to do better for young people with intellectual and learning disabilities in Whangarei.
From the coffee cart beginnings, we now have a range of employment training programs for our trainees, including our retail shop, commercial kitchen, herbarium, barista and own brand coffee, and operations administration.
