Help us keep our sacred paths clear! Our old weed eater has died and we need your support to care for our beautiful Coromandel gardens.

Help Us Keep the Path Clear at Mahamudra Centre
At Mahamudra Centre, our gardens are more than just grass and plants—they are a "container" for peace. For many of our retreatants, the quiet beauty of our rural Coromandel land is where their healing and reflection truly begin.
The Problem: Our trusty weed eater has officially retired!
After years of hard service taming the vigorous Coromandel bush, our old machine has finally breathed its last. Without it, our paths quickly become overgrown, and the tranquil spaces around our stupas and meditation halls lose the clarity we work so hard to maintain.
How You Can Help
We are looking to raise $1500 to purchase a high-quality, durable weed eater that can handle the demands of our beautiful, rugged landscape.
Maintaining a Dharma Centre is a true community effort. By donating the cost of a cup of coffee or a lunch, you are directly helping us:
Keep our walking paths safe and accessible for all visitors.
Maintain the beauty of our sacred spaces and flower gardens.
Allow our residents and volunteers to focus more on caring for our guests and less on battling the long grass!
Service as Path
In our tradition, caring for the environment is a form of practice. Your generosity ensures that Mahamudra remains a sanctuary of "Health, Vitality, and Well-being" for everyone who visits.
Every dollar helps us reach our goal. Thank you for your kindness and for being a part of our Mahamudra family.
With gratitude,
The Mahamudra Team
Mahamudra Centre is devoted to preserving and spreading Mahayana Buddhism by creating opportunities to listen, reflect, meditate, practice and actualize the teachings of the Buddha and based on that experience spreading the Dharma to sentient beings.
Funds will buy a STIHL FS 250 Brushcutter, a professional-grade tool needed to manage our dense bush and large lawns. If we don’t reach the full target, funds will go toward a repair fund or a smaller model to keep our sanctuary paths clear.
Rejoicing in Your Kindness: A Heartfelt Thank You from Mahamudra 23 May 2026
Dearest Dharma Brothers and Sisters,
From the very depths of our hearts, thank you.
As a 40-year-old rural retreat Centre, Mahamudra is not a business; we are a charitable organization that survives solely on the extraordinary kindness, devotion, and generosity of our community. Keeping these 8 acres of sacred land beautiful and functioning is a constant, demanding task, and the truth is, without your financial help, we would truly struggle.
We want to share some wonderful news and invite you to rejoice with us! Together, 19 generous donors raised $1,140 over the last four weeks. While it wasn't quite our initial target, in true Dharma fashion, it turned out to be absolutely perfect.
Thanks to you, a brand-new, high-quality Stihl weed eater has been purchased!
As you can see in the photo, our wonderful caretaker, Brian, has already been blissfully hard at work with it, clearing the wilderness and keeping our sacred paths peaceful and accessible for all who come here to heal and meditate.
Please know that your generosity does not just buy a machine—it directly sustains a sanctuary of peace and loving-kindness for sentient beings. We are so incredibly grateful for your big hearts.
With all my love and deep gratitude,
Lisa and the Mahamudra Team
