Help us re-build Taradale Pottery Club at Waiohiki Arts Village
Taradale, Napier
Taradale Pottery Club has been at Waiohiki Arts Village since 2008. On Monday 13 February 2023, Cyclone Gabrielle ripped through the Arts Village bringing a torrent of silt, debris and water with it.
Our awesome clubrooms were inundated with filthy water which swamped our space submerging our pottery wheels, electric kilns and key equipment. Our big community woodfire kiln was also badly affected.
As the clean-up starts we are keen to rebuild our clubrooms, which is a vital part of the Waiohiki Arts Village home to several Hawkes Bay Artists as well as the Pottery Club. This will take time, effort and money. We have a little insurance but not enough to replace everything.
If you know of anyone selling a kiln (gas or electric), we may be interested.
Taradale Pottery Club is a group of keen potters who work out of the Waiohiki Creative Arts Village. Our programme of classes cater from absolute beginners through to Diploma level study of ceramics.

Club clean up progress 6 March 2023
It's almost three weeks since Cyclone Gabrielle tore through the club at the Waiohiki Arts Village. With the help of numerous volunteer helpers with shovels, wheelbarrows, diggers, bobcats and baking we have made huge progress with the clean up.
We are extremely grateful for the help of everyone and for the generous donations made to help us through this challenging time.
