Raising funds to get Taradale Pottery Club back up and running after Cyclone Gabrielle flooded the clubrooms.
Taradale, Napier
On Tuesday 14 February, Taradale Pottery Club was inundated with flood waters and slit in the wake of Cyclone Gabrielle.
The damage to our equipment and facilities at the Clubrooms was severely impacted. In the weeks since the flood hundreds of volunteers from around NZ have contributed to cleaning up the club and wider Waiohiki Arts Village.
We are currently closed as there's a lot of work to do in order to get the building back up to standard. Once this has been achieved we will be able to rebuild our operations. The club has some insurance but it wont cover reinstatement of our kilns, key equipment and resources.
Taradale Pottery Club is a group of keen potters who work out of the Waiohiki Creative Arts Village. Our programme of classes cater from absolute beginners through to Diploma level study of ceramics.
