Quirino Galliguez, “Tatay Quiring” to his family died from a lingering illness on the 2nd of November 2019. Tatay Quiring was a humble and hardworking farmer in the Philippines. He was well-loved and respected by the community of farmers in their village in Manaoag, Pangasinan. He started getting sick a year ago but even if he was experiencing recurring health issues, he can’t be stopped working in the fields. However, his health continued to deteriorate and he was forced to stop working. He was hospitalised several times this year and about 3 times one month before he died.
Milet, my kind and generous sister-in-law is Tatay Quiring’s youngest daughter. She and my brother has been helping her siblings pay for the hospital bills and Tatay Quiring's medications. She is here in Christchurch on a partnership visa. She will leave on 6 Nov for her father’s funeral.
Carmelita is my brother's partner. They are both here in Christchurch on a work visa.
The funds raised will be used for the funeral, remaining hospital bills and on-going costs.
