We’ve won first place in our category at the International Songwriting Competition! We need your help to make our debut album.

Auckland

We’re excited to tell you that we’ve won first place in this year's International Songwriting Competition (ISC), the Christian category for our song ‘Floodgates’! ISC gets over 18,000 entries from all over the world. This year's judges included Coldplay Dua Lipa, and Kari Jobe. Previous winners of the competition include: Bastille, Kimbra, Passenger, Gin Wigmore, and For King & Country.

This is great, but there’s no prize money with it, so the challenge remains about how to fund our first album. We were counting on some other work to help fund it, but due to Covid 19, this evaporated. Maybe you could help us get the album to come to life? Every little contribution will help!

We are a family band, made up of husband and wife Dom and Laura, and our sister Rachel. We write from our hearts, not shying away from the sometimes-harsh realities of life, love and faith.

Since we started in 2018, we’ve released five singles. Listen here on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/0Z8pYQ1HmTLaPhrbIQ7EHa?si=M9exWhJ4RC-h71mqvBC0TA We’ve done as much as we can by pouring our own resources into these. Earlier this year at Festival One 2020 we opened for two time Grammy winner, Lauren Daigle, alongside Paper Cranes 折り鶴. Our single ‘Thank You’ debuted at #10 on the NZ Hot Music charts, and #1 on the LifeFm YouChart. ‘Floodgates’ made it to Spotify's "New Music Friday Christian" playlist in 2019. Our Christmas song ‘You Are Christmas’ was also a finalist in the Radio New Zealand song competition, last year, and premiered live at the Auckland Town Hall, with the Auckland Symphony Orchestra.

Making great music isn’t cheap, so we’re asking for your support!

We hope to raise $15,000 through Give a Little, and we will cover all costs beyond this ourselves. The intended release of the album will be late 2020 or early 2021.

Cost Breakdown:

Recording Studio: $13,800

Musicians Fees: $400.00

Marketing, Production and Materials: $800.00

Use of funds

We hope to raise $15,000 through Give a Little, and we will cover all costs beyond this ourselves. Your contributions will go towards the recording, production, and marketing of the album. Any surplus will go towards the production of music videos.

Debut Album 'PANES' Out Now  27 September 2021

We can't believe that 'Panes' has been out for almost two months now! It wouldn't have been possible without your help. Thank you so much for helping us make our dream a reality!

'Panes' is available on all streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music-iTunes, YouTube). Bear in mind that Apple Music has incorrectly labeled the album as 'Explicit', however we are working to get this resolved as soon as possible.

CD's are also available for purchase ($15NZD plus postage). Please contact us directly at thesations@gmail.com to reserve your copy. These will be sent out to you as soon as we exit the Level 3 lockdown. The majority are already reserved, so please get in quick if you would like a copy. :)

Blessings,

The Sations
