Help these children study and stay warm this winter

$341 of $7,000 goal
Given by 12 generous donors in around 3 months

Help me raise funds for children affected by the earthquake to stay warm and have basic stationary needs to continue their studies.

International

On 12 November 2017 at 18:18 UTC, an earthquake with a moment magnitude of 7.3 occurred on the Iran–Iraq border. With at least 630 people killed and more than 8,100 injured, as well as many more unaccounted for, it was the deadliest earthquake of 2017.

Dozens of families have been living in tents since that day despite the cold weather in last winter which reached -20 degree Celsius. Despite helping of the international organisations, the government and local people, unfortunately, some of those poor people are still living in tents with miserable conditions.

Yesterday, another earthquake with 6.3 magnitude struck the same region! For most of the people living in that condition it was not such a bad news because they didn’t have a roof to collapse this time! However, yesterday’s earthquake made me start raising funds for those children in need, not just because that they are from my home city and I have seen their miserable conditions, but also because I know that even one dollar can keep a children warm for the upcoming winter this year.

HOOMAN JAVAHERI's involvement (page creator)

In the west part of Iran where my hometown is, we had an earthquake last year and another earthquake yesterday. Thousands of people have lost their homes and dozens of families are living in tents. I want to buy those children in need basic stationary and warm clothes for the beginning of cold season.

Use of funds

Funds will be used on basic stationary needs such as school bags, text books, pens, pencils, pencil sharpeners, colored pencils, colored markers, erasers and we will include warm clothes in the packages delivered to the children by local charities. I have worked for a local charity (hiway-zheyan) before and helped them with educating poor children. Working with this local charity I will make sure that the raised fund will be managed correctly.

Even one dollar can keep a baby warm this winter.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
