Help this young family raise funds for life changing health treatment
Auckland
Last week, Tane and Ashley received devastating news that Tane’s chronic kidney disease has rapidly progressed, with his kidney function dropping from 54% earlier this year to just 30%. Tane has lived with Type 1 Diabetes for many years, and in June last year he suffered a stroke that completely changed their lives. Since then, he has continued battling ongoing health complications while staying strong for his family.
After exhausting many options, they are now hoping to pursue overseas stem cell treatment in a desperate attempt to slow the progression of Tane’s kidney failure, manage complications from his diabetes, and improve his quality of life before needing a kidney transplant.
At the same time, just 9 weeks ago, they welcomed their beautiful baby boy at only 28 weeks. Their precious little one remains in NICU/SCBU requiring ongoing care, while Ashley also battled severe complications from HELLP syndrome following the birth.
As parents of five children, they have spent every day by their baby’s side, unable to work while carrying the emotional, physical, and financial pressure of a prolonged hospital stay.
Over the past few years, this family has also endured heartbreaking personal losses, including Tane’s dad, Ashley’s stepdad, and one of Ashley’s close friends. Despite everything they continue to fight forward with strength, faith, and love for their children.
Every donation, share, and prayer means more than words can express for this beautiful family.
I have been friends with Ashley for over 13 years and seen their family been through the ups and downs of life!
Funds raised will help support stem cell treatment, specialist appointments, alternative treatment, travel, accommodation, and day-to-day living costs while Tane focuses on his health and their baby continues receiving care.
