Help Thomas, age 12 get to the 2019 Seido Karate Australia International Benefit Tournament.

$500 of $1,000 goal
Given by 11 generous donors in around 3 months

I have an amazing opportunity to travel to Sydney, Australia to participate in the Seido Karate International tournament - Can you help me?

Nelson / Tasman

Osu, My name is Thomas. I am 12 years old and I have been practicing karate since February 2012. This year I have been invited to take my Junior Shodan grading (Black belt) As part of my training for my promotion I have an amazing opportunity travel to Sydney, Australia to participate in the Seido Karate International tournament

I am dedicated to my Karate journey and train several times a week as well as helping to teach junior student classes. Over the last two years I have been selected as training partner for two other junior students who successfully attained their Shodan Grade, so I am more than aware just how much training and commitment is needed.

The trip to Sydney is expensive but I have taken on a part time job assisting to teach in an after schools STEAMS programme, my Mum is helping me organise a raffle and my Dad is helping me to make meditation stalls that we will sell to help raise funds for our trip.

If you could spare the price of barista-made coffee, the cost of a flight to Sydney, or an amount somewhere in between, I would be immeasurably grateful for your support and owe you big time! Osu

Just over eight weeks to go!  11 February 2019

A message from Thomas.

Wow its just over eight weeks to go until we head to the tournament in Sydney! I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated and to update you on our fundraising. We have two events coming up. Firstly we have a general grading where Hanshi (who leads our Dojo) has kindly said we can host a BBQ and keep the money for our trip and secondly a group of us have organised a movie night at the local cinema. We are busy selling tickets and collecting donations for a couple of raffles we will be running. We had beach training this weekend. It was so much fun! Though I don't think Mum is overly impressed with all the sand in the hem of my Gi!

I will post another update in a few weeks. In the meantime please feel free to share my page.

Thank you so much for your support.

Thomas
