TJ is more than my dog — he’s been my comfort, my companion, and the one constant source of unconditional love through my lows.
East Tamaki, Auckland
everyone,
First of all, thank you so much for taking the time to read my story.
My name is Bella. I’m 38 years old and work as an Early Childhood Education teacher in Auckland. The past year has been incredibly challenging for me. After 22 years of marriage, I separated last year and have been starting over on my own. It’s been a time of a lot of change and rebuilding.
Through all of this, my dog TJ has been my constant companion. He is truly my fur baby and the one who loves me unconditionally, no matter what.
Two weeks ago, I took TJ to the vet for what I thought was just a skin irritation. During the consultation, the vet discovered a lump on his front leg. After further testing, we were told it is likely sarcoma, a type of cancer.
TJ now urgently needs a CT scan and biopsy, which is estimated to cost around $10,000. If surgery is possible to remove the sarcoma, that could be an additional $15,000.
Unfortunately, I do not have pet insurance to help cover these costs, and as much as I wish I could manage it on my own, it is simply beyond what I can afford right now.
TJ means the world to me. He has been by my side through some of the hardest moments of my life, and I can’t imagine losing him without doing everything I possibly can to help him.
If you are able to contribute in any way, no matter how small, I would be deeply grateful. Even sharing this page would mean so much.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read this.
Lots of love,
Bella 🤎
Funds will go towards TJ’s urgent CT scan and biopsy to confirm the sarcoma diagnosis. If possible, it will also help cover surgery to remove the tumour and give him the best chance at recovery.
