Our aim is to foster a thriving New Zealand Muslim community through the power of zakat. Zakat donated through the New Zealand Zakat Foundation enriches communal bonds by fostering a spirit of responsibility towards our neighbours, and maintaining social harmony between the wealthy and poor.

Every year millions of dollars of New Zealand Zakat money goes overseas while many Muslims in New Zealand are struggling to meet their basic needs in the ever rising cost of living crisis. Local zakat distribution enables the community to fulfill its communal obligation of protecting its weak and needy, investing in its future by paving the way for scholarship, and providing for its converts and vulnerable to lift them up.

We provide a reliable way for you to donate your zakat, ensuring that your zakat is distributed to Muslims in need living in New Zealand. Last year we collected over $100k zakat and distributed it locally to more than 30 New Zealand Muslim families in need. 0% of your zakat funds go for Lote Tree Trust administration costs. By distributing your zakat locally, we are committed to making sure the burdens of needy Muslims in New Zealand are eased, enabling our community to thrive.
