Help Toni to her road to recovery

Toni has been diagnosed with a gastrointestinal stromal tumour measuring 13cm x 10cm x 6.5cm. Due to its severity it is treated as malignant.

Toni will be undergoing major surgery to remove this tumour from her small intestine in the up and coming weeks. This will involve removing a section of Toni’s intestine. It is unclear whether she will need chemotherapy afterwards as a biopsy on the tumour will be performed once it is out. Toni has been told recovery for this type of operation is extremely painful. She won’t be able to drive for 4 weeks and won’t be able to cuddle or pick up her babies.

Toni has been excessively tired, lethargic and unable to put weight on.

Toni’s recovery is going to require a lot of help.

Toni and her husband Jared have 3 children (Ollie 10yrs, Marshall 2yrs and Layne 1yr) and a lifestyle which Toni is largely responsible for. At this stage of their life, Jared is the sole income earner and will need to come home from the South Island to care for her and take on her responsibilities.

Life has already become financially taxing on Jared and Toni so any financial help will be hugely appreciated.

If you know our girl, you will know she can’t sit still and there will always be lawns to mow, spraying to be done, a garden to be kept perfect at all times and plenty of wine to be drank, so it is extremely important that she gets the help she needs and behaves herself.
