Help Cambodian rescue kitten Toru fight for her life. She’s in intensive care & still needs surgery. Every little bit helps 💛
Nationwide
Toru is a small, brave rescue kitten who has already faced more than her fair share of challenges.
In Cambodia unwanted or unwell animals are often dumped at Buddhist pagodas in the hopes that the monks will care for them. She was found with badly injured leg with her foot missing — we took her to the vet, where she was given a full health check. Beyond the obvious injury, she was fighting an infection, worms, fleas and conjunctivitis. The vet was hopeful that with nourishment and care, she would be healthy enough to have an amputation surgery in a few weeks. We decided to name her Toru - 3 colours (a lucky sign in Cambodian culture) and 3 legs.
We brought her home and started nursing her, but a few days later, she suddenly became very sick.
Toru has now developed severe stiffness in her body and tail — likely caused by tetanus or neurological FIP. Both are life-threatening and require urgent, intensive treatment.
She is currently at the vet clinic receiving round-the-clock hospital care, antibiotics, antivirals, muscle relaxants, fluids, and supportive care.
Despite it all, Toru is still fighting — eating, purring, and showing her gentle spirit — but her vet bills are growing daily. Once she recovers from this illness, she will still need surgery for her injured leg.
Any contribution will help cover her current treatment and ongoing care. Even a few dollars makes a real difference.
Thank you for helping give Toru a chance at the life she deserves. 💛
Funds will cover Toru’s vet hospital care, antibiotics, antivirals, pain relief, diagnostics, and surgery for her injured leg once recovered—plus follow-up treatment and rehab
