Kia ora friends of the mighty Tracy

Just a quick update to let you know Tracy’s come through her big week of treatments, and is currently doing the heavy lifting of recovery in the bone-marrow transplant unit here in Christchurch. The transplant itself was on Fri 26th August, and so far Robyn reports that it has gone well. Please continue to think of Tracy in the coming days/weeks where she will be summoning her strength to kick that old bastard Leukaemia back where it came from. Donations are still welcome and super appreciated. ♥️

  • Bone marrow transplant ahoy!

      14 August 2022

Kia ora friends of beautiful Tracy

We have some exciting, if not a little daunting, news to share. Tracy is about to embark on the next stages of her treatment. This is the big one, and happens in a few stages, but will culminate in her having her long anticipated bone marrow transplant on August 26th. Amongst this will be a Hickman line insertion, more chemo, full body radiation treatment, and then the transplant. To follow - as we know - will be a significant time in the bone marrow transplant unit.

So we’re reaching the end of this campaign, now is the time to consider how you might be able to support Tracy face the next steps with a little more financial security underneath her feet. We can’t take away the illness, and the struggle to come - but we can do something to take away those other worries that sit in the background. This campaign closes right around Tracy’s birthday. So now, more than ever, would be a time to reach out with that gesture of love and support. Thank you all for being so generous and kind. Keep our girl in your thoughts as the next few weeks unfold. ♥️

  • An update from Tracy: next steps coming up

      30 June 2022

Kia ora loyal and kind friends of Tracy

At last, after a number of months waiting anxiously for her heart to recover from the mega round of chemo, Tracy is back into active treatment. This week she has started more chemo with the goal to smash the pesky blasts (abnormal blood cells) before embarking on her biggest challenge: her bone marrow transplant. A bone marrow donor has been identified, and all things being equal, Tracy’s transplant process will happen in August.

This is a daunting few months for our lovely friend. And as you can see, the timelines are significantly extended from what were first proposed. With that in mind, and in this time of Matariki, can we gather our energy and send our love to support Tracy as she tackles this next stage. Knowing you’re out there thinking about her and sending strength is so powerful. Contributions to Tracy’s costs continue to be a massive boost for her, and a practical way we can show we continue to hold Tracy in our collective light. ♥️ ✨

  • Tracy update April 2022

Kia ora friends and supporters of Tracy

It’s time for an update on our girl. As you know, she’s been biding her time waiting for her heart to play ball to enable her to get into bone marrow transplant land. This all during the current Omicron outbreak. Unfortunately, there’s been some unwelcome activity going on in Tracy’s blood cells and she’s having to undergo a new round of chemo to get her back into remission so she can get that all-important bone marrow transplant. Obviously, so many months of not being able to go anywhere, much less be able to work, takes its toll, so now would be a great time to refresh your support by donating and sharing. Let’s double down our love to counter double down leukaemia. ♥️

Thanks for those donations that keep coming through. It's so great to know that there's a team out there standing alongside our girl Tracy. Just wanted to let you know that, following our last update on Tracy's heart, she's heading in for some tests tomorrow to see how it's shaping up to allow her to proceed to the next important milestone: the bone-marrow transplant. In the meantime, you can bet it's been a pretty tough time for Tracy just waiting... Your donations are so uplifting. Thank you all again so much. Please do continue to share Tracy's story and let's keep that butt kicking going! Ngā mihinui xxx

  • Let’s keep the love flowing for Tracy

We were stoked Tracy was well enough to make it for pizza at our place yesterday. We had a fabulous visit. Tracy let us know that she’s needing to get some electrical wiring with her heart health and blood pressure on track before they can launch operation Bone Marrow Transplant. She’s seeing the cardiologist later this month. Not one to suffer a set back lightly, Tracy’s been able to take advantage of a little time between chemo rounds to use up an Air B&B credit in Akaroa with lil sis Robyn. We’re all rooting for our Tracy! Your generous donations are the definition of the kind of aroha and support Tracy really needs right now. Not all heroes wear capes (as they say!) x

  • Thank you so much for your generosity thus far

      4 October 2021

Thank you so much for the generous donation you have made to Tracy. Today (oct 4) we are now at $9,285 of our $25,000 goal (close to 40% of our target).

As you know, these funds are to help Tracy with the enormous costs of the unfunded medication she needs, and to assist her through the substantial period of time she'll be off work. With some chemo under her belt now, Tracy is currently getting prepared to launch into the fight of her life (AGAIN) with a bone marrow transplant scheduled before the end of the year.

Your generosity is such a support in such difficult times. Your donations and messages have provided an enormous amount of strength and Tracy thanks you so very much. Please continue to keep her in your thoughts as she gets ready to go toe-to-toe with that old b#stard leukemia once again.
