Fundraising in support of Tracy Towart-Holyoake's extensive treatment for relapsed leukemia.
Christchurch, Canterbury
Our friend Tracy Towart-Holyoake is a truly special person. She is one of those people whose presence make everyone feel, well, just better. Her kindness, compassion, and loyalty is absolutely legendary. She is definitely one of life's givers. Most people know Tracy has had her fair share of adversity in life: from finding herself an extremely young widow, to fighting off leukemia back in 2006. Well friends, it's time to step up and give back for Tracy because, unthinkably, her leukemia has returned, and this time it's come with a new twist - a gentic mutation that, while treatable, requires medication called Midostaurin. This drug is not funded by Pharmac and costs $15K a round. Yes you read that correctly! She's had one round of this, and may need another. We're fundraising to help Tracy pay for this urgent medication which she has to take alongside several rounds of chemo and a bone marrow transplant. Because Tracy's treatment is going to be so extended, we also want to help her get through the long period she won't be able to work. Let's get behind our friend and help her kick leukemia in the butt A-BLOODY-GAIN.

Just a note to thank you all for your support of Tracy over the past year. Tracy is doing well post-bone marrow transplant, is recovering at home now, and all the early signs look good. Thank you for your part in offering care and support on Tracy’s epic journey kicking leukaemia in the butt one more time. It means so much, and has made a difference.
