It is with heavy hearts that we prepare to celebrate the extraordinary life of our gorgeous friend, Adriaan Beddie, who tragically left us far too soon. His infectious laugh, unwavering kindness, and boundless energy and love touched each of our lives in profound ways. Adriaan was absolutely integral to our community - he really was the essence of joy and a piece of him will remain in all of our hearts. What a life, what a soul, what a light - Moe mai rā e hoa - you will be missed.
Adriaan's parents live in Zambia so we are asking for your support to help fund their travel from Zambia to be with us for his final farewell. By contributing to this cause, we can provide them with the opportunity to bid their son a proper farewell and honour his memory in the presence of those he cherished most.

I am their son in law. This page is being coordinated on behalf of the Estate of Adriaan Beddie (by the trustee of the will). The lawyers for the Estate are Malley & Co, based in Christchurch.
Use of funds
Every dollar raised will help cover the urgent travel costs of bringing Adriaan's parents over from Zambia. Any additional funds raised will help them cover any additional expenses they incur while here.

Update on funds raised and how they were used 25 September 2023
Hi Everyone
I wanted to give a detailed summary of how much was raised, and how the money was spent.
Summary:
This page raised $4,595, which after fees = $4,367.75 (GiveaLittle charges 5%)
In addition, 3 people donated directly $4,000 (one x $3,000 from 2 people, and one x $1,000 from another).
So the total raised was $8,367.75
Total costs were $9,984.76
The costs were mainly flights (over $8,000), getting NZ visas (just under $300). Other misc costs included a local SIM card, and any direct costs while they were here (food etc).
Accomodation was all provided for no cost, as was transport and day to day items.
The shortfall of $1,617.01 was paid for by me (ie my personal contribution).
Thanks again for all donations, it really helped.
I am in regular contact with both At and Joey who wish to send on their thanks to everyone who contributed to this page, and gave donations directly.
