Two loving dads-to-be, separated by countries, united by love — raising funds to welcome our miracle twins into the world.
Auckland
Hi,
We’re a Vietnamese LGBT couple on a difficult but hopeful journey to become parents. Since same-sex marriage and surrogacy aren't supported by law in Vietnam, I moved to Auckland, New Zealand, to complete my Master’s degree and, full of hope, to find a better future for my family, where our dream could grow into something real.
Back home, my husband is caring for our surrogate. After years of saving and hoping, our IVF succeeded — and we were overjoyed to learn we’re expecting twins. They're now 5 weeks old, and we’ve heard their heartbeats. It was a moment we’ll never forget (ultrasound image attached in this post).
We’re deeply grateful, but honestly, we didn’t expect twins — costs have grown far beyond what we planned. Medical and surrogacy expenses are rising fast, and we’re already in serious debt from bank loans. We’re trying to sell family property to stay afloat.
To make things harder, our surrogate’s health is fragile. Her body wasn’t ready for twins, so we’re doing everything we can — medication, nutrition, and medical care — to support her and protect our babies.
Once I graduate, I’ll be eligible for a 3-year post-study work visa and can apply for residency. That will let me bring my family to New Zealand and finally be together.
We are humbly asking for your help. Every dollar you give will go directly toward ensuring a safe pregnancy and birth for our twins — and toward giving our little family a real chance.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.
Eli Tran.
