Help us build a permanent Gurdwara Sahib in Masterton for our growing Wairarapa Sikh community and future generations.
Masterton, Wellington
The Sikh community of Wairarapa is seeking your kind support to establish a permanent Gurdwara Sahib in Masterton — a place of faith, learning, unity, and service for generations to come.
Sikh families have been living in the Wairarapa region for more than 30 years. For many years, our families have had to travel around 1.5 hours to visit a Gurdwara Sahib and seek the blessings and Darshan of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
Since 2022, Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji has been Parkash in Masterton at a small rental property. As our community continues to grow, this space is no longer large enough for weekly gatherings, prayers, Kirtan, Langar, and community activities.
Our dream is to purchase our own permanent place where families can gather every week and, importantly, where our children can learn Gurmukhi, Sikh history, values, and Sikhism while staying connected with their heritage.
The proposed location is conveniently situated on the **main highway**, making it accessible not only to the Wairarapa community but also to Sangat travelling between Wellington, Masterton, and Auckland.
Our fundraising goal is $100000.
Every donation, large or small, will bring us closer to establishing a permanent home for Guru Sahib and our growing community.
Please donate and share our campaign. Together, with the support of the Sangat and wider community, we can make this vision a reality.
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.
Masterton Sangat is a growing Sikh community in Wairarapa, bringing families together for prayer, Kirtan, Langar and community service while helping our children stay connected with Gurmukhi, Sikh values and culture.
The funds will be used to purchase a permanent property for Gurdwara Sahib in Masterton and create a safe, welcoming space for worship, Langar, community gatherings and children’s Gurmukhi and Sikh education.
