We're Running the Chicago Marathon 2025 — For Mum, For a Cure

After completing the New York Marathon in 2023 and 2024, and raising over $30,000 NZD to support research into Motor Neurone Disease (MND), we’ve been inspired to take on another challenge. In 2025, we’re proud to be running the Chicago Marathon together as a brother-sister team with Team ALS.

We lost our beloved mum to Motor Neurone Disease — a cruel and devastating illness that slowly robs people of their ability to walk, speak, eat, and breathe. MND, also known as ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), is terminal. The average life expectancy after diagnosis is just 2 to 5 years. There is currently no known cure.

This cause is deeply personal for us.

That’s why we’re doing everything we can to raise funds for cutting-edge research, to help find a cure and offer hope to families like ours.
