Donate today to help us deliver two brilliant books for Kiwi kids to school libraries across Te Tai Tokerau / Northland

$7,600 of $7,500 goal
Given by 45 generous donors in 8 weeks

Donate today and help us deliver two books to schools across Northland and build a life-long love of reading in young New Zealanders.

Nationwide

Vibrant, playful and engaging, ‘Annual 3’ and ‘The Observologist’ are already delighting and inspiring young readers across Aotearoa.

‘Annual 3’ is a contemporary take on the much-loved annuals of the past. ‘The Observologist’ - a field guide for budding natural scientists - is by award-winning Kiwi illustrator and comic writer, Giselle Clarkson. ‘

In 2023/24 the Fledge Trust delivered copies of ‘Annual 3’ to 75 flood-affected schools in the Te Tairawhiti / Hawkes Bay region. For our next campaign we’re focussing on Te Tai Tokerau / Northland – a part of Aotearoa that’s experienced more than its share of catastrophic weather events.

The Fledge Trust’s mission is to deliver copies of these two wonderful books into every full-primary and intermediate school across the region. We need a community of donors to help us purchase, package and deliver approximately 85 copies of ‘Annual 3’ and ‘The Observologist’. For every $84 donated, we will send copies of both books addressed to the School Librarian of each school.

Your donation – big or small - will help with our goal of building a life-long love of reading in young New Zealanders.

We'd appreciate you sharing this campaign with friends and family - far and wide!

About us

The Fledge Trust was established to help build a life-long love of reading in young New Zealanders, especially aged 8-13 years. Fledge was inspired by Kate De Goldi & Susan Paris who seek out, mentor, and publish new writers for young readers.

Use of funds

Funds will enable The Fledge Trust to purchase and deliver copies 'Annual 3’ and ‘The Observologist’ to full-primary and intermediate schools throughout Northland / Te Tai Tokerau.
