Help us get my father-in-law back to his health (Aggressive brain tumor second time around)

Sunil's recurring Brain Tumor needs radiation Treatment to stop the tumor coming back. Total cost is estimated at $90,000.

Auckland

Our Father-in-law Sunil Sharma has travelled from Covid stricken Fiji for his second Brain tumor surgery in under 4 years which will be followed by radiation treatment. He had his first surgery in 2017 but the tumor has come back with an even more aggressive form in under 4 years. It has affected his health and life greatly.

Due to treatment not being available in Fiji, he had to fly to NZ last month to have a second operation in June at Auckland Hospital. Now with a recommendation for radiation treatment, the hospital costs are building up and we need your support to help get our dad back on his feet.

A hardworking family man who always gave out the last dollar from his pocket to help support his fellow Fijians is now struck with huge amounts of hospital bills to help in his treatment and recovery. My siblings and I are pitching in to help support 60% of his surgery costs, but this is not enough to help cover all the treatment costs second time around. Ourdad is a semi-retired sugarcane farmer and is unable to work and support the treatment costs in any way at this stage.

Surgery, radiation, quarantine costs are high but we are determined to help our dad recover and start enjoying his life with his beautiful grandchildren. Covid has restricted us in many ways, but the offer to help a person in times of need is always greatly appreciated. Thank you for your support.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
