As 2025 comes to an end we reflect on the amazing year we had, and look towards 2025 with greater hope and optimism. While we never sought the spotlight, we realized how important it was to raise awareness about the importance of making STEM education accessible to children and youth, and how clubs and competitions help create those safe spaces for kids to explore tech before the enter the real world.

Your words of encouragement and support have motivated us to push on, and your donations have made a world of difference to the work we do and the vision has become a tangible reality.

We want to wish you all a safe and peaceful Christmas and New Years 2025! Like and follow us on www.cocobots.org to see what we have in store 🫶💯🤗 Kia Manuia

  • Thank you for the support!

Exactly this time two months ago our Robotics Team was in the midst of preparing for our next match at the FIRST Global Robotics competition in Athens Greece. Reflecting on those moments I feel a sense of wonder and pride.

One of my favourite memories was when the Captain of Team Uzbekistan asked to speak to our team to talk about game strategy for the upcoming match. You see, we were in an alliance with them and we needed to understand the capabilities of each others robots, determine what role each person would play during the match, and how the alliance would score points. The meeting was intense and lasted a few minutes, but the strategy emerged and the path forward was clear and the alliance was solid.

Seeing such collaboration, friendship, courage and talent has only inspired me as a mentor to continue to share these opportunities with more Cook Islands youths. Its in these moments we see the future leaders of the Cook Islands begin to emerge.

Its your support that helps create these opportunities, and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

    Mii

  • We brought home GOLD!

Thanks to your incredible support, we made it to Athens and represented the Cook Islands on the world stage! Over three thrilling days, our team competed in 12 matches against 36 countries, forming alliances with 24 nations. We faced challenges head-on, including a tough technical issue in one match, but every experience helped us grow stronger.

Out of 180 teams, we placed 60th, earning us a spot in the Finals thanks to a random draw selecting six additional teams. Joining forces with Team China, Moldova, and Madagascar in the Semi-Finals and Finals was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that pushed us to our limits.

Together, our Alliance scored an astonishing 338 points in the Finals, securing the GOLD medal! This historic win marks a milestone not just for our Robotics Club, but for the entire Cook Islands community.

We are deeply grateful for your encouragement, generosity, and belief in us. This achievement belongs to all of us. A huge Meitaki Ma'ata for making this journey possible! See full results: https://results.first.global/
