ALL Children deserve the chance to play!

Marlborough

Our group Differently Abled Children of Marlborough are striving to have our special needs children included at our local playground, which currently has no equipment suitable for wheelchair users to play on. We watch our children miss out on valuable opportunities to simply play. For children who don’t have these challenges playground equipment for disabled children can also offer big benefits, connecting with children of different backgrounds and abilities encourages empathy, as well as social and emotional skills. It is not just children who benefit, adults who have mobility issues can benefit from wheelchair accessible playground equipment also, allowing them to spend time together with their children or families.

We need to provide this equipment and ensure NO ONE is left out.

Sadly our local council have declined our submission for help with funding this essential project.

So it is now up to us to make this happen!

Use of funds

We will purchase a liberty swing, this swing allows a wheelchair user to be wheeled onto it and secured, and then enjoy the simple pleasure of being pushed on a swing. We would also purchase a giant xylophone to be enjoyed by all ages in wheelchairs.
