Raising money to subsidise the overall costs of placing a headstone on our young sister, and an unveiling ceremony.

Without going into things too deeply...
My whānau / family is very unique. It consists of many siblings (full, half, step & adopted-out) and until very recently, some of us had never known of, or even met each other. Unfortunately, I will never get to meet one sister who passed away as a very small child on 21 Aug 1988 (under very sad and nefarious circumstances). Even more upsetting is knowing that she has laid in the ground without a headstone for 33 years.
My siblings and I want to put this right, and are fundraising money to subsidise the overall costs of providing her with a headstone, and holding a small unveiling ceremony. We want our beloved Leanne Maria Rangirangi to gaze upon her headstone, and know she was not abandoned and will always be remembered.
To subsidise the overall costs of:
- Purchasing and installing her Headstone
- A small unveiling ceremony
- Travel costs for siblings from other parts of NZ and AUS
A great big huge thanks! 1 September 2021
Kia Ora koutou / Hi everyone
- My siblings and I just want to thank everyone, who donated, sympathised, empathised, or even who just took the time to read our Givealittle.
- We are overwhelmed with the generosity, love and support that has been extended to us - and which will enable us to finally give our departed sister a beautiful headstone.
- We've been communicating about the how and when we will resource and hold the unveiling - and due to Covid19, we feel it is safest to push it out into early 2022. We will be holding a small ceremony attended by as many siblings that can make it along.
- We will also post a video (or a photo-slideshow) online so that all of our whānau and friends can share in the experience. We're not sure if this will be a Live event, but please stay tuned for more details in the near future.
- Once again - thank you all so very very much!
