Pepper has healed incredibly well from her MPL surgery on her left knee. The sparkle is back in her eyes and she is able to play and run around more than she has ever been able to before! Unfortunately during recovery the added strain on her right leg has caused her other knee to start dislocating. As a result she has surgery booked through Massey for the 29th of September to correct this. It’s unlikely our insurance is going to cover this one either which is a massive shame. If you want to follow Peppers journey she is on instagram! @misspepperthebulldog thank you so much for all of the support so far!

Hi everyone, just a short update to let you know Pepper had her surgery through Massey yesterday. We dropped her off on Monday morning and spent two nights at home without her :( Her surgery went very well and she has settled back in at home tonight beautifully! The care she received at Massey was incredible and we’re so thankful for what they provided during her stay. Pepper is walking on her new knee, can sit, stand and squat to go to the toilet without being in any pain. We have 6 weeks of crate rest ahead but we are so pleased to be over this hurdle. Thank you so very much to everyone who donated to her. We were able to pay for her surgery in full. She is currently snuggled up asleep in her crate near the fireplace - very happy to be home :) I have attached a copy of her Massey invoice showing the total for her stay.

    Hi everyone,

We wanted to send out a very big thank you to those who have helped Pepper by donating. We have met our $3000 goal ❤️

This message comes at a sad time where we unfortunately lost Peppers best mate Benji, our 6 year old Birman cat to a dog attack yesterday. While we try to navigate Peppers health issues we now also need to mourn the loss of one of our very loved family members. Knowing that because of this give a little page and everyone who has donated we don’t need to worry about getting Pepper through her next surgery, it has taken a tremendous amount of stress off our shoulders during what is amounting to be a very emotional time for us.

We’re grateful to each and every one of you, including Peppers breeder who we did not expect such a large sum from. Kimberley & Taupiri - thank you. Things have fallen apart between us but we know you care about Pepper and only want the best for her. We appreciate the help, please know she is okay and very loved. Not just by us but by our families and anyone who has the pleasure of meeting her. She’s the happiest little dog despite what she is going through and deserves only the best chance at a healthy life moving forward. Shes taking full advantage of being fussed over constantly and loves all of the extra attention ❤️

Thank you again, we appreciate it more than words can express.

    Sarah, Ryan & Pepper.

We wanted to say thank you very much to those who have helped us so far. Pepper is our first bulldog after wanting to own one for the last 15 + years. We waited knowing they have their own breed quirks and thought we had been careful when selecting a breeder. Unfortunately her breeder doesn’t hip or elbow score, despite knowing they have HD issues present in their lines they haven’t cleared the dogs they are using to produce litters. Not only are we hoping to gain some relief from the financial burden they have put on us we also want to raise awareness. Too many people are breeding British Bulldogs without thorough health testing. It opens the door for situations like ours to occur. It’s not fair on families and not fair on the little dogs who have to live with these issues. They are still using the same stud to produce litters and promising healthy well bred puppies to people who don’t know what questions to ask.

It was fortunate that they allowed us to keep Pepper, the bond we have formed with her cannot be put into words. We don’t have children our dogs are our babies and we’d do anything to help them. There isn’t a day that goes by where Pepper isn’t with one of us. She’s the absolute light of our lives and we don’t know what we’d do without her.

Please follow her journey on Instagram if you’re interested: @misspepperthebulldog

Thank you again for your help, please share this with your friends and family. We’d be grateful to hit our goal.
