Mark Patiño and his wife were overjoyed to find out they were expecting a child, but their happiness was cut short when the doctors discovered the pregnancy was ectopic. His wife underwent surgery to save her life, but the couple faced another obstacle - they needed tp pay PHP 40,000 upfront for the operation. With no savings and Mark being new in New Zealand, they were forced to borrow money just to cover the cost of surgery.

Their nightmare didn’t end there as the hospital bills kept piling up. The daily hospital costs alone amounted to Php 2,000 or about $62, making it impossible for the couple to keep up. After series of check-ups and treatments, the total hospital bill reached PHP 157,000 or about $5,000. They had to borrow money once again just to pay off the bills.

To make the matters worse, the person they borrowed money from is now asking for repayment by the end of April 2023. The couple is in desperate need of of financial assistance to pay off their debts and get back on their feet. They are reaching to their community, asking for any help that they can get.
