Raising funds to keep Kia Mataara Pariha going strong
Otara, Auckland
BUY-A-BRICK CAMPAIGN
We are the taitamariki of Kia Mataara Pariha in Ōtara, and we are asking for your support.
Our Pariha is our safe space, where we gather to pray, to learn, to sing, and to stand strong in our identity as Māori and as Rātana.
But the truth is, our current building is no longer fit for purpose. It is worn, outdated, and struggling to meet the needs of our people and our future. We are ready to build a new whare.
As we take this step forward, we pause to honour those who came before us.
We acknowledge our tūpuna, and the current pou who have carried our Pariha with aroha and dedication. It is because of them that we are here today. Their vision and sacrifice laid the foundation. Now, it is our responsibility to carry that vision forward and with your help, we believe it is possible.
That is why we are launching our Buy a Brick campaign.
Every brick you purchase brings us one step closer to our new whare. Every koha helps us build something lasting for our people. Your brick will be displayed in our current space as a visible reminder of your support. Later, it will be carried into the new build, where it will become a permanent part of our legacy.
Here’s how you can help:
Bronze Brick – $20
Silver Brick – $50
Gold Brick – $100
Platinum Brick – $1,000
Whether it is one brick or many, your contribution matters.
Can you help us build a future we can all stand proudly in?
We are not asking for ourselves.
We are asking for our future – and the futures of those yet to come.
Kia Mataara Pariha is the spiritual home for Morehu of Te Haahi Rātana here in Ōtara, South Auckland. Grounded in the teachings of T.W.Rātana, our Pariha has stood as a pou for us, for many generations. We serve not only as a place of worship but also as a centre for healing, learning, and connection by uplifting our whānau through whakamoemiti, whakapiki ora and manaakitanga.
Koha will help cover costs for the building, whenua and all our services.
