Queer couple saving for IVF to start a family
International
We are Camille + Olivia.
Our life is full of love and wonderfully supportive family and friends. We live in a cosy little home in Kapiti where we spend most of our time in the veggie garden and doting on Mabel, our beloved whippet. We are in a place where we are ready and hoping to begin the process of expanding our little family.
As much as it is an exciting time it has also opened our eyes to the inequality there still is within the infertility sector in NZ and the support that is offered.
As a same sex couple this means a bit more of a journey to start a family than the 'norm'.
The system, both in the language it uses and the boxes we still need to tick (even though it isn't relevant to our situation) is a challenging thing to experience.
Aside from this, we have a large amount of support in our lives, from those in our circle, and from one another, which makes us feel very fortunate already.
The hurdle we are facing simply comes down to whether we can afford to even try, which is where we are going to need a little extra help.
We are starting this fundraiser to go towards our first round of IVF/ICSI.
The rough cost of this will be $17k, with no guarantee of success. We have no specific fundraising goal in mind however; any little bit helps.
We appreciate your support in which ever way you are able to offer; by supporting our give a little, sharing this info with friends and family and any kind words.

IVF/ICSI- if we do not raise the full $17k, we will likely take out a loan. Anything over $17k will go toward a second round of IVF if first round is unsuccessful
