💛 Help us stay by our 1-year-old Liam’s side during his liver transplant

We wanted to share a little update with everyone who has been following Liam's journey and keeping our family in your thoughts.

Over the past few weeks, Danielle has been undergoing extensive testing to see whether she could be suitable as a live donor for Liam. It has been a long process involving countless blood tests, specialist appointments, scans, and further investigations.

Unfortunately, after completing all of the assessments, we've been told that Danielle is unable to be Liam's donor.

While this is heartbreaking news for our family, we know the transplant team has been incredibly thorough to ensure the safest possible outcome for both Danielle and Liam. Although this wasn't the outcome we had been hoping for, we trust that every step has been taken with Liam's best interests at heart.

Our focus now remains on our brave little boy as we continue waiting for the call that a suitable donor has become available. The waiting is hard, but we remain hopeful and hold on to the belief that Liam's time will come.

To everyone who has supported us, shared our story, sent messages, donated, or kept Liam in your prayers—thank you. Your kindness has carried us through some incredibly difficult days and reminds us that we're not walking this journey alone. We are so grateful to have such an amazing community standing beside us.

Please continue to keep Liam in your thoughts as we wait for the next chapter in his journey. 💛

  • Testing Complete — Now We Wait

Last week Danielle and Liam travelled up to Auckland and stayed at Ronald McDonald House while Danielle underwent vigorous testing and assessments to see if she would be a suitable candidate for a live liver transplant for Liam.

We’re happy to share that all of the testing went well. Danielle is now having a cool-down week to gather her thoughts before the transplant team meets to discuss the results and determine whether she is a match or not.

This journey continues to be an emotional rollercoaster for the whole family, but they are incredibly grateful for all of the love, support, messages, and donations they’ve received along the way. Every bit of support means the world to them.

Thank you all for continuing to walk beside them through this journey ❤️

  • Danielle Begins Donor Testing for Liam

Danielle has decided to see if she could be a donor match for Liam, and they share the same blood type. She’s already had a full health screening with blood tests, which have come back with no concerns so far. The next step is travelling to Auckland for further testing, including a CT scan and meetings with the transplant team.

Liam continues to amaze everyone with his happy nature — pulling himself up, exploring, and learning more about the world around him every day. At the same time, he is still struggling with painful scream crying during feeds, and his tummy has become more distended (picture attached) here's hoping that Danielle is the perfect match ❤️
