Auckland
Carlos Arturo Bravo Ibarra, is a young Mexican man who came to New Zealand almost a year ago, seeking new adventures and a fresh start in this beautiful country. Unfortunately, a week ago, he suffered a stroke during the night at his home on Waiheke Island.
Fortunately, a close friend found him in time and saved his life. Arturo was immediately taken to Auckland Hospital, where doctors performed a five-hour surgery. Since last Thursday, Arturo has been hospitalized in the critical care unit at Auckland Hospital. His family managed to fly from Mexico a couple of days ago to be with him during these difficult times. However, as you might imagine, his recovery will take some time.
Today, we are organizing a fundraising effort to help Arturo and his family cover medical costs, support his recovery, and ease their stay in New Zealand, so they can focus on taking care of their son. Being far from home, your country, and your family is always challenging. Today, Arturo and his family need our support. Let’s come together as a community and support one another during this difficult period.
The community helping the community is the best way to strengthen our bonds of care and love.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts! 💖
(Arturo's Friends)
My partner Mauro, Devin and I were Arturo's housemates in Waiheke. We shared a lot of beautiful moments toghether and became really close friends (and family) during the time we lived in Waiheke Island.
The money will be used mainly to cover any medical costs, hospitalization, recovery process costs that may not be covered by the public health system and eventual plane tickets for Arturo and his family to return to México
Carlos Arturo still has a long road to recovery. 21 October 2024
Thanks to all the people who collaborated, we have been able to help Carlos Arturo in his recovery, and his family was able to be by his side so far. We know that every small advance in his recovery is a great hope, but there is still a long road ahead and months of rehabilitation, where every minute counts. We need his family to be able to continue accompanying him in New Zealand. They are a fundamental part of this process and key to Carlos Arturo's recovery. We still need everyone's help to be able to continue covering all the expenses that this situation implies. With all of our hearts, thank you for being part! 🩷
