Help us support our friend Christina through her medically unstable severe epilepsy

Hi everyone,

I'm making this page on behalf of our lovely friend Christina, 33 who's a proud mum of two & needs some help. For the last 2 years Christina's been in & out of hospitals, neuro rehab, seen countless different doctors & specialists. We've searched for an answer to what's been making her so ill. Finally she got given a diagnosis of having medically unstable, severe epilepsy. We thought the right meds & she could carry on with life a bit more carefully than before, unfortunately this isn't the case.

Despite being diagnosed over a year ago, doctors haven't been able to find the right balance of meds nor is her body cooperating, resulting in Christina's life being on hold as her health continues to deteriorate quickly. She's unable to drive, work or leave the house without someone with her, incase of a seizure. She's unable to function in day to day life & is heavily medicated. Seizures are happening not just weekly, but daily or more. When they occur it can take the body anywhere from minutes to days to recover. Lingering symptoms include feeling confusion, tiredness, or weakness.

Due to all this, Christina's had to leave her job as a nurse working in Orewa. We're hoping to make this awful time in her & her kid's lives a bit easier by providing some financial support to get her to & from appointments, cover some expenses & ease stress on her little family by helping with groceries, the kids needs & much needed medical costs.
