So gratifying to see the number of runners, cyclists and trail users of this newest community asset over the holiday season-especially with the roads so busy.

Thanks for your positive feedback and donations. We’re stoked to be getting so close to starting the build. Watch this space for some exciting news from Council who are partnering with us.

Now the route for the final stage is nailed to follow Cove Road we've been busy talking to landowners. Most are in favour and we can get started soon on drainage and earthworks. Donations towards fencing ($20 buys a fence post and $200 buys a culvert pipe) will boost our funds to get this work done.

The section between McLean Road and the Cove is now completed with the recent addition of a stunning new culvert bridge near the Waipu Cove Camp which removes a difficult and dangerous section on-road. Thanks to Whangarei District Council for undertaking this building task on the trail. Up next, we will look to reschedule our community planting day and discussions with landowners on the final section when the lockdown levels allow this to happen again. Meantime thanks so much for your donations towards this terrific community asset- they are very much appreciated. (Photo credit our Facebook page admin- thank you!)
