Having a new space would mean so much for our charity and it would allow us to change and grow in ways we currently aren't capable of.

Auckland

Mummys in need is a not for profit charity that provides families in hardship with all the basic essentials to raise happy and healthy children.

We currently function out of two storage units which we are so beyond grateful for and they have saved us so much, but we would like to find a premises of our own to allow us to expand more and to help more families.

By having our own premises it will mean we could

Have specific areas for certain processes. Something which would change the way we operate significantly would be to have a designated space for cleaning and safety checking our items. This process is such a vital operation in what we do and currently it is done at multiple locations where the time to get this done is lengthy.

We would have designated spaces for packing, preparing and finished orders.

We would like to provide a safe space where we not only could we have onsite counseling but also just a place for our mums to have a coffee and a chat in a place where they feel safe.

We would be able to double the number of families we help because we wouldn't need to minimize donations anymore.

Having running water would allow us to clean baby items onsite which would mean we can process these items much much faster.

We would be able to have a designated area for children to play while their mums help pack orders and chat away.

we would be able to have an office on the premises so that we could function all from one space this would help hugely for everyone in the organisation to know what's going on.

Having a premises would mean that we could show potential funders everything we do in a very professional manner this could be opportunity for more funding for our charity.

Having one space where everything is would mean that we could easily identify what we are short of.

We would be able to have just one business address for everything and this would make everyones lives so much easier!

In short we need a bigger space to help More people and decrease the time people wait and alongside this provide a safe place for many people to gather.

Many families around new Zealand go without the bare necessities. We are doing our absolute best to help minimize poverty for kiwi families. Too often we see cases where a family has nothing but what they carry on their backs, we see families who cant afford nappies so they are using t-shirts, we see families that are just cleaning their selves with water. This is not okay we are fighting for equal livelihoods and with your help we could help every family that needs it.
