With the introduction of the fatal RHDV1-K5 virus, we need help to vaccinate our beloved rabbit Buddy.
Wellington
The RHDV1-K5 virus is being released in Wellington on the 16th of April and we need help to vaccinate our beloved son Buddy.
"RHDV1K5 is a variant of rabbit haemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV1) that causes a fatal haemorrhagic disease in the European rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus). It is specific to the European rabbit, and once a rabbit shows symptoms, death is rapid. There is no treatment or cure for rabbit haemorrhagic disease (RHD); however a vaccine for domestic and production rabbits is available."

ABOUT BUDDY!
Buddy is a beautiful Siamese Sable Netherland Dwarf X, so he is very small! He is a rescue bunny and is blind in one eye but we love him just as he is. Buddy is a friend to all of our flat, and gives emotional support. We take him on adventures all around Wellington and he is loved by the people he meets. We would be devastated if anything were to happen to him, and with the introduction of this virus his life is in danger as it is fatal and brutal when contracted.
We are all poor students and with the incredibly short notice, are in need of help to vaccinate Buddy as soon as possible. All of us would be incredibly grateful for whatever help we can get with our goal.
If you want to see more of Buddy he is on Instagram @phat_kumara - your help will keep him cheering people up!
The funds will go directly towards the vet bill to vaccinate Buddy. Any surplus will be spent on his food and care.
