This fund is to help support Warrick as he recovers from prostate cancer.
Richmond, Tasman
In December 2021, Warrick visited the emergency room in absolute agony, his bladder completely full, but unable to pee. It turned out that his prostate was entirely blocking the outflow of urine. Biopsy showed extensive high-grade (aggressive) cancer throughout his prostate. This was an unexpected diagnosis for a fit and active 49-year-old.
With surgery the only option, Warrick spent the first half of 2022 recovering from removal of his prostate - radical prostatectomy. Subsequent scans revealed metastasis of the cancer throughout his torso, requiring chemotherapy and ongoing hormone therapy. Things are looking good, but Warrick still has a way to go. He remains quite fragile from chemo and has had a few setbacks along the way, complicating his recovery.
Being unable to work or only able to work part time for over a year has been a real strain on finances, adding undue stressors to Warrick's recovery. He shouldn't have to be deciding between paying the electricity bill or buying groceries right now. Given that so many of Warrick's closest friends are far away, a donation is a great way to send Warrick some love over the distance.
Please share this among Warrick's community of friends and those who may be keen to help. If we all pitch in a little bit, it would make a big difference in Warrick's life, allowing him to concentrate on recovery rather than worrying about finances. Even $5 can make a big difference.
Unfunded medical costs (prostate specific [PSMA] scans to detect and monitor metastasis) and general daily living expenses to help take the pressure off until Warrick is able to return to work.
