Please help us fundraise for the medication to help Wayne fight against Cancer - stage 4 renal-cell carcinoma.
Hamilton, Waikato
Please help us give my uncle Wayne the best chance at fighting his battle with stage 4 terminal cancer. On the 7th December 2020, my uncle who is only 50 years young was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma, finding a large tumor on his right Kidney as well as small tumors in the upper chest wall and lung lymph nodes. Wayne started on a trial treatment called Nivolumab but was unsuccessful due to blood complications. This led to Wayne having a Kidney embolization procedure on the right kidney and had its blood supply cut off. Chemotherapy tablets were the next treatment starting on a standard dose but moving onto a stronger dose a couple of months ago. Unfortunately, this form of treatment does not seem to be working and the tumors in Wayne’s chest have increased in size. The next step is to try a new drug called Axinix which comes from overseas and is not funded in New Zealand. Wayne has 3 beautiful children. Georgia (21) Keelin (18) and Josh (13)!. Wayne also met the most amazing lady Michelle a few months before his diagnosis who still sticks by his side to this day and he refers to her as the love of his life and his rock. We all want nothing more but to do all we can to help him beat this so he can go on and enjoy his life with his family and friends who love him so much.
I am very close with my uncle Wayne. He has such a fun, loving sarcastic nature and I have so many happy memories from childhood to now from playing cricket on the beach , camping in Whangamata to horse bites that would have me on the floor laughing!
The money will be used for funding the Axinix medication costing $1000 per month and any other expenses that will relieve any financial pressure that comes with his sickness!
